Thursday Wake up Tactic

Stood over female staff’s head and got reallyreallyclose and meowed in her ear. Plus purred. She ignored me so I sat on the side of her head and let my floofy floofy tail rest across her face.

She’s not too keen on having my bottom side so close to her face (or my tail in her mouth) so she got up pretty quickly and BREAKFAST was served!

Love me, love my wake up strategies.

Tuesday Wake up Tactic

Felt the need to switch it up today. Turned my laser focus on male staff member this morning.

Conducted all basic elements of wake up tactic: MeowmeowmeowMEOWMEOWMEOW then floofy tail in his face. Finally, paw on forehead.

Later heard female staff say, “Romeo didn’t wake us up this morning!”

Male replied, “Oh YES he did! Grrr.”

Meow. Grin.

Wednesday Wake Up Tactic

You may not know this but Pugsley is THE LOUDEST groomer EVER. He snorts and sneezes and gulps and slurps and generally makes so much noise that the whole house knows when he’s taking a bath. This morning, he decided to groom in the staff’s big bed. At 6 a.m.

Woah, Nellie, did HE get in trouble! He he. They couldn’t even blame me for waking them up today because it was so clearly the Pugman.

Of course, all he has to do is look cute and all is forgiven. Sigh.

Monday wake up tactic – Meow Machine

Stand in between sleeping female and male staff members. Meow at female staff member. Then, rotate. Meow at male staff member. Rotate. Meow at female staff member. Rotate. Meow at male staff member. Repeat process until one of those lazy fools gets up to get BREAKFAST.

Come on, people! It's Monday. LET'S GET MOVING.

MEYOOOOOOW! Run and jump on bed, right onto female staff member’s stomach. Launch off female staff’s stomach back onto floor but make sure you really dig in with hind paws. Run and chase something invisible (to everyone else) out in the hallway while Pugsley watches calmly from a distance.

Man, have some dignity.

The trick is to keep one eye slightly open so you know what's going on.

Employ reverse psychology. Act like you don’t want to get up and they will wonder why you haven’t gotten them up for BREAKFAST.

Technically this is much less work. However, you do have to wait until they notice you haven’t gotten them up and sometimes if you’re really hungry this is hard to do.

I don’t think I have the willpower to sustain this one. But it worked today.

“My most successful method to date (and one I use quite frequently) is to jump on the headboard above my human mom’s head. I then remove the flowers from the decorative wall hangings on either side of the bed and drop them one at a time on her head. If that does not work, I simply just pounce on her and then get the heck out of the room – works everytime!!”

Tuesday wake up tactic – “The sweep”

Who, moi?

This one is so simple, even newbies can do it.

Climb up on top of dresser (a bookcase or shelf will work just as well) and knock all items to the floor with paw or tail. Quickly jump down and pretend you were grooming.

P.S. I have carpets but I bet wood floors would make this uber-effective.

Here I am with the fruits of my labor.

Pull ponytail holder from female staff member’s hair with your teeth. Be persistent; it may take a few tries to get to The Big Pull.

The Big Pull tactic is quite brilliant as it not only yields choice words from staff but also provides fun toy to play with until the staff prepares BREAKFAST.
