Tuesday Tete-a-Tete

Bonjour, Staff!

This morning, pressed face against staff’s forehead and purred.

Now, this sounds like a very sweet move, doesn’t it? Actually it’s a savvy wake-up maneuver. This strategy makes one look cute AND wakes up the food-getter people (aka staff).

So, here’s how I did it: pushed face against staff’s forehead and held it there for a couple of seconds. Then, shifted position. Then shifted position again. This is what starts to get them. Eventually, your wet nose/eyes/mouth will “slime” their forehead and if that does not get them up, the constant hot cat breath on their face will do it.

This tactic works wonders! The bonus is they think you were just loving on them and that BREAKFAST was a happy by-product of that affection.

Silly humans.

Wake up Wednesday

Good morning furry and non-furry friends! Today’s wake up tactic was a sheer genius move, if I must say so myself.

Stood on chair and bat-bat-bat-batted at the fun dangly thing that hangs off the blinds. Then, ooooops! Knocked off the lampshade. It made this glorious noise and kapow! Staff was up and at ‘em and BREAKFAST was served a mere five minutes later.

Damn, I’m good.

Meow Monday Wake up (Kinda)

Well, the time change threw me off. I slept a little later than normal so the staff was awake before I could even get to them!

I have mixed emotions about this. On one hand, er paw, I did not have to do any work. On the other paw, I have to admit that I do enjoy planning my daily strategy. It keeps me sharp for the hunt. If I had to hunt. Which I don’t, really. Except sometimes I hunt Pugsley. And the staff’s feet. And stray ponytail holders on the floor.

Tuna Tuesday Wake up Tenacity

Have decided the more the staff ignores me in the morning, the more aggressive I shall be in my pursuit. When one Romeo is pushed away, the force of 10 more Romeos shall come back to claim BREAKFAST.

Today this worked. Staff was not happy. But BELLY was.

This morning I used a multi-faceted approach that worked quite nicely.

First, meowed. Then, stood on female staff manager’s chest with front paws. Meowed. Then, got whole body on her chest, looked down on her and meowed. Meowed. Meowed. Meowed. I also dropped a little bit of drool on her face. When she turned her head to avoid getting slimed, I took full advantage of access to her ear and closed in. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. MEOW. MEOW. MEOW.

And….she was UP. BREAKFAST time, baby!

Am phantom in the morn.

Meow Monday Wake up Tactic

Started the day as usual, meow. Meow. MEOW. Then put paw on female staff member’s face. Was rudely brushed aside.

But then I spied something irresistible: a box. A box with PAPER in it. OMIGOD, BINGO!

Abandoned the bed and jumped into the box, rustling and playing with paper and generally making a huge nuisance of myself. This worked beautifully and BREAKFAST was served!

Did you really think I was NOT going to find - and leverage - this box?
