Mimi and Maty….in Hardcover!

September 12, 2012

Do you remember a while back I told you all about the wonderful book, Mimi and Maty to the Rescue! Book 1: Roger the Rat is on the Loose! Well, I have some great news about the success of the book. First, it sold 40,000 e-book copies. Then, it did exceptionally well as a paperback and I am happy to share that it’s now in full color hardcover!

The book was inspired by Mimi Ausland, who founded Freekibble.com when she was just 11! Freekibble.com is a trivia site that you can visit every day to answer a question and, whether you answer right or wrong, Freekibble.com donates 10 pieces of delicious, nutritious Halo Spot’s Stew kibble to shelter pets!

Mimi’s mom, Brooke Smith, wrote this awesome book about the adventures of Mimi and her friend Maty, a special three-legged dog. In this book, Mimi and Maty are on the hunt to find Roger the Rat, a pet who’s gone missing!

Along with adorable illustrations by Alli Arnold, the book is a lot of fun to read. My staff gave the soft cover editions as holiday gifts last year and some other kids she knows will definitely get the hardcover this year. But, really, it’s great for any little (or big) readers in your life, any time of year.

You know how I (and the staff) feel about raising a generation of kids who care about pets. This is so super important.

And, because Mimi and Brooke and the entire Freekibble.com team are committed to giving back to the community in everything they do, they’ve found another great way to do this.

To celebrate the launch of the hardcover book, Brooke, Mimi and Alli have partnered with generationOn , which has agreed to donate a Mimi and Maty to the Rescue! book for EVERY book sold… to schools, libraries and kids organizations!

So cool! Please support kids (and ultimately pets) by purchasing a copy of Mimi and Maty to the Rescue!

Mwah!

Sounds like a really great read! Good way to make kids responsible pet owners at a young age. And also let them know that three-legged dogs or those with special needs need all their love and care. Will definitely be in the lookout for more Mimi and Maty Adventures! Is the sequel in the works?

That sure looks like a great book. We will save up our green papers. Thanks for the great review. Please tell Mom that we got the Petco gift card and are so excited. Thanks again for having that drawing. Take care.
