No Fall Wake up Strategy

September 5, 2012

This morning I played upon the staff’s “cat mama instincts.”

She was laying in bed with the back of her head to the edge of the bed. There was not much room for Romeo!

I jumped up on the bed and stood on my spot (where her big fat head was) and reewr. reewr. reewr. You know the sound. Then, I purred really, really loud.

Finally, I laid down in the 3 inch space that was available for cats to lay down. It was very precarious and I was trying hard to keep my balance. While purring. Slipping…slipping….slipping…..

I knew she would not let me fall…..and I was right. Just as I was about to slide off the bed, she must have sensed my impending injury and her hand reached back, grabbed me around my belly and pulled me back up on the pillow.

Never doubt the cat mama instincts.

She’s also very smart and knew there was no way I was letting her fall back asleep after that awesome save.

BRRRRRRRRRRRREEAKFAST TIME BABY!

And that’s why the humans are early risers! Who could sleep through that?

Mom has done that numerous times for me because I must look out of the window that is at the head of my bed and she just happens to be there asleep when i do. Its like she knows when I”m going to fall and is like a ninja. I must learn her ways!

Very good instincts indeed! Now stop looking so disgruntled. Seriously. Come on now. Where’s that kitty smile? Oh I see, you are smiling on the inside!
