Each week, we feature a new multi-pet household and today we’re featuring the crew of cats who inspire the hilarious blog, CatLadyLand. Angie is staff to this meowvelous gang and she tells us:
The crew includes Saffy, an 11-year old floofy grey girl, Cosmo, a ten-year-old tuxie boy, and Phoebe, a six-year-old calico tabby girl.
Angie and her family rescued Saffy from a shelter when the kitty was a year old. The other two cats were barn rescues and Angie brought them into the family when they were about 6-10 weeks old.
Angie says they purposefully created a multi-pet household because it is very important for them to have furry companions for their cats. It keeps the cats more active and playful and it provides endless entertainment, which means more material for the CatLadyLand blog!
Phoebe is six pounds, but is definitely the alpha cat. She picks on Saffy (who’s twice her weight) and while Angie says she feels sad about that, she also understands that that is their dynamic and she tries not to interfere. Cosmo is the Switzerland of the house. He’s pretty neutral and will hang with either of the girls. Angie says, “He’s a tuxedo-wearin’ ladies’ man!”
Angie is a big believer in having more than one pet. She believes that, pets, like people, enjoy companionship. “Another pet means someone with which to play (which equals fun and exercise), and someone with which to snuggle,” she says. “Snuggles are good for the soul!” (We couldn’t agree more!)
If you are able to bring another pet into your home, Angie recommends it. She says, “multiple pets mean exponentially more love, laughter (who doesn’t want more love and laughter?) and less animals in shelters. Win-win!!”
We think Angie is a very wise, wise staff member. Thanks for sharing your story, Angie!

WE totally agree with a multi cat home. They do get a lot more exercise and just are happier. Loved hearing all about these kitties. Have a great week end.
Great story! Thanks for sharing. We have seven and I completely relate to Angie’s sentiment that it makes for a very happy home. My cats truly enjoy the companionship they share and having all of them brings such joy to our household.
We like reading about the multi-cat households. Mom Paula had just Sweet Praline for almost 16 years, so she considered having more than one when she was thinking about us. The vet even recommended she get more than one. Even though we’re twice the work (because of our long, thick floof), she is so glad she has two of us.
