I love this photo from last year's Adoptathon. They are so happy! Courtesy: Maddie's Fund
San Francisco has a mission this weekend: find homes for 3,000 homeless cats and dogs.
Sound like a big challenge? Well, Maddie’s Fund, a family foundation funded by software mogul, Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl, has pledged $3 million to help make this goal a reality.
Maddie’s Fund is holding its third annual Maddie’s Matchmaker Adoptathon on June 9 & 10. A total of 62 rescues and shelters in the area will hold FREE adoptions in more than 80 locations throughout Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco counties. Seriously, you won’t be able to go ANYWHERE in San Francisco without seeing pets for adoption! I LOVE IT!
Last year, they helped more than 2,300 pets find homes!
Maddie’s Fund will award each organization anywhere from $500 – $2,000 per
adoption. This is great incentive for prospective adopters to take action this weekend and adopt. They’ll provide a home for a wonderful dog or cat AND help the organization raise much-needed cash to do more of their important work. How can it get any better?
Maddie’s Fund was started in honor of the Duffield’s late dog, Maddie. I think Maddie would be very proud of what they’ve achieved so far, don’t you?
Please help spread the word about this event and let’s help San Francisco kick some adoption butt!
Cheer them on via Facebook and Twitter….and tell all your friends to tell THEIR friends!
