Wednesday Wake up

Romeo face

Time to make the biscuits!

Good morning furiends!

I’ve never tried this particular move as a wake up strategy but it works like a charm!

You know that adorable thing we all do when we knead our staff’s lap? And you know how the staff members get all gushy and misty-eyed when we do it? Yah, that thing.

I tried it this morning as a wake up tactic! And the staff could not resist.

First I meowed and meowed and meowed. Nothing. Then, I started “making biscuits” on the pillow. With my motor turned on high volume. Then I started making biscuits on her arm. !

While normally I get kind of yelled at when I’m waking her up, today I got “awwwww, baby. You are so sweet! You want BREAKFAST?”

HA HA! Did I ever! Am still congratulating myself on putting on such a brilliant show.

Question for other cats and their staff members: what word do you use for “kneading” or “making biscuits”?

I just called it kneading. Never heard of ‘making biscuits’, but I love it. Also love… happy feet, the happy dance, paddling and my new favourite is ‘knitting’ (as I’m a knitter!).

And, yes, note to self, I need to trim Clarence’s nails because it’s a fine line between ‘awww how cute’ and ‘ow ow ow’! ;)

We’ve called it “treading” ever since I was a kid because they are using their feet. So of course, we also call it “happy feet.” A couple of my kitties actually walk all over me, “treading” with all four feet! If I’m lying down, it’s a full body massage! I love it.

When my cat Twinkle does this, I call it “The Happy Dance”.

My little one, Yoda, will give me kissies and purrs to wake me up. Soooo cute! My Midnight lays on my head and head butts me awake. I call the kneading, ‘fluffing the pillow’, or, ‘massaging’.

We call it “paddling.” And, thanks for reminding The Girl that she needs to trim our nails. I have been puncturing her quite a bit lately. :(

We call it making biscuits. And, Romeo, it’s the purring along with the making that gets the humans all mushy. And if you’re really good, you’ll start drooling. That gets them every time!

oh dude…that is totally my best move…even in middle of night…I just start “making bread” on Mom’s leg or behind and next thing ya know, I have chin rubs, and goo goo talk and everything. Nice move!

The staff calls it Burrza’s. Cause I make more of a real deep, rumbling purr, a Burr-za. Me, Maggie, I make burrza’s on Mom’s stomach or legs or arms. The other cats mostly do the same thing. And I agree with others, right on the bladder works if I want Mom to get up quick. Unfortunately she also uses this to determine it is time to cut our nails. Ow, ow, ow is right.

This does not work with Dad, however, he just ignores us or pushes us off. Very difficult to train him, good thing Mom is well-trained.

Try kneading in the area of the human bladder when you are exceptionally hungry. This is the fastest technique I know to get a human out of bed in the morning.

We call it kneading. I don’t think Mom calls it anything else. Making biscuits or kneading is all that we call it. We mainly do it when we are getting ready for bed. Take care.

We call them happy paws — or at least our staff does. We don’t need to call them anything ’cause we know what they are. We’ve also found that the most effective place to go all happy paws in the morning is low down on the female staff’s stomach. That get’s her up in no time. She always says something about twenty pound cats dancing on the bladder — whatever. We get breakfast fast.

I call it the PUSH THING. I never heard it called making biscuits. Our cat does it a lot when she sits down on the blanket in the chair so she gets it pushed into just the configuration she wants for sleeping on it. She is such a cutie.

around here it is making biscuits – unless Tim needs his nails trimmed, then it is “ow ow ow ow ow” MOL

Here, we call it “workin’ it.” And we’d totally melt too, if that was how our cats chose to wake us up. But usually it’s not anything nearly as cute and gentle. It’s usually sitting upon one’s head.

We call it both kneading and making biscuits. I love when Sebastian does it!

My Frankie does this to wake me up too! Only he kneeds my, erm, chest area. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and had to explain to her that it wasn’t a rash, it was from when I was getting my wake up from my kitty. Good thing he’s cute! ;)

I call it ‘kneading’. For a second there I was wondering what you meant by ‘making biscuits’. I had the worst picture in my head! LOL :D
