I use Q-tips to clean the soap and water scum that builds up under our sliding glass shower
doors. There isn’t much of an opening between the doors and the frame that holds them so
a Q-tip slides in quite easily and cleans it out.

debra December 22, 2011 at 6:18 pm

I use cute tips for putting makeup on and to clean delicate ears

Sherry December 22, 2011 at 5:15 pm

Q-Tips are so useful for my Howie and Huey’s ears-eye boogies-and so much more!!

Michelle December 22, 2011 at 1:49 pm

We use them for all sorts of cleaning or applying. They work really well to clean my cat Frog’s nose, she looks like she’s been sniffing kitty litter. A little warm water dabbed on to soften, then swab off the dirt. She hates it because it makes her sneeze, but it works well.

Kristen December 22, 2011 at 1:46 pm

I use Q-tips in a variety of ways from cleaning out my cat’s ears to fixing mascara mistakes!

Carol December 22, 2011 at 1:45 pm

I use Q-tips to clean the filter of my 3 cats’s drinking fountain- and to clean ears. toes and the cat box scoop. I would like the directions for the Q-tip cat! It’s darling!

Jennifer December 22, 2011 at 1:35 pm

I use Q-tips to help clean the ears of my Rat Terrier, Luigi (those crazy windscoop ears get really dirty) and my sweet cat, Blue Eyes.

Michelle December 22, 2011 at 1:30 pm

I use Q-Tips for just about everything involving cleaning or applying for myself or my cats. They work especially well to clean my cat Frog’s nose, it always looks like she’s been snorting kitty litter, I use warm water to soften, then swab to clean-she hates it because it makes her sneeze.

Susan December 22, 2011 at 1:28 pm

I use Q-tips to clean my dog & cats ears; I use them to apply eye shadow and to remove lipstick smudges.

Ring-a-Ding December 22, 2011 at 1:22 pm

My staff member uses Q-tips for all kinds of things. It would be wonderful if you would please post the instructions for how to make the Q-tip kitty?? I’d LOVE to have one to play with!

Arlene December 22, 2011 at 12:57 pm

I try to clean around my big ginger cat’s eyes and ears with Q-tips, but this is only if I survive while attempting to accomplish this. And of course the Q-tips never survive this escapade – they always get killed afterwards. (I consider myself lucky if he is not able to “bury” them by pushing them underneath rugs – charming to discover afterwards!)

Chris December 22, 2011 at 12:57 pm

I use Q-Tips on the dogs and cats ears and for cleaning the aquarium filter.

Amy December 22, 2011 at 12:56 pm

I use Q-tips for cleaning ears. The cats are not fond of that.

Selina December 22, 2011 at 12:55 pm

I LOVE this revision of “12 Days of Xmas” – and I’d never have thought of using Q-Tips to remove road salt from a dog’s toes!! Marvelous!

edith December 22, 2011 at 12:40 pm

I use Q-Tips to clean the outer portion of my dogs ears. And will be using Q-tips to clean my bird cage and as playthings for my cats.

Linda December 22, 2011 at 12:29 pm

Sometimes it’s a challenge keeping our 13 adopted kitties’ busy. So I roll some Q-tips in their favorite catnip and hide them around the house. They search and search until they’re all found and properly destroyed! Lots of very relaxed, purring kitties! Except for Ocean, who darts around the house full speed with a Q-tip in his mouth, springing from our laps to the nearest cat tree or shelf! Our Great Danes know to stay out of the way until he wears himself out!

lynne December 22, 2011 at 12:23 pm

I just love Q-tips. What do people do without them? My kitty has bad gums and using the spray bottle from the vet doesn’t work. So I dip a big fluffy Q-tip into the solution and rub his gums. Since the cotton ball soaks up the fluid, it is easily spread around the gum area. Kitty #2 has ear mites, so I clean around the ear area with a Q-tip sometimes wrapped in a wad of cotton ball to clear debris…..then I dip the q-tip into the medication and swab around the ear. Don’t know what I would do without Q-tips! Thanks for making them J & J.!

Beverly B December 22, 2011 at 12:20 pm

I use Q-tips to clean out my cats ears. They are soft and small enough to clean the dirt from the crevices in the ears. Of course she loves to play with them also.

Lori December 22, 2011 at 12:19 pm

Q-tips are a favorite cat toy in my house – in fact, there was a mangled one on the stairs this morning!

Pamela L. Lewis December 22, 2011 at 11:36 am

I use them for a billiongazillion things….but my favorite is craft time with the grandkids!

MarilynH December 21, 2011 at 11:49 pm

I buy the ones with wood shafts to clean things with and the paper ones for ears.

Katie December 21, 2011 at 9:20 pm

Q-tips work great to clean my cats ears!!

Kristen B. December 21, 2011 at 7:48 pm

I use them to build model airplanes. Also, they are great for getting into hard to reach places when I am cleaning.

Sparkle December 21, 2011 at 7:33 pm

Me? I carry them around the room in my mouth.

Christine December 21, 2011 at 6:47 pm

I use Qtips to clean jewelery, apply makeup and remove nail polish from the corners of the nail bed. I’m sure there are a million other uses, but those are all I can think of now! I can’t live without Qtips!! :)

Lorrie Cwieka December 21, 2011 at 6:34 pm

I use Q-tips to clean the motor (and parts!) in the cats’ water fountain! Oh and for cleaning their eye gunk!

martie December 21, 2011 at 6:30 pm

Ha! Just for ears. Seriously. But now I’ll reconsider.

Pat P December 21, 2011 at 6:20 pm

We use Q-tips to clean all the human and non-human ears in our house. Also, use Q-tips to clean all the hard to get at grooves in our furniture…love Q-tips!!

Pat P December 21, 2011 at 6:17 pm

We use Q-tips to clean all the human and now human ears in our house. Also use them to clean in all those hard to clean grooves in our house…love Q-tips!!

Lauralee Hensley December 21, 2011 at 5:44 pm

I dip them in a disinfectant cleaner and clean the slate/vent thingy at the base of the refrigerator that the drip pan evaporates through. With dogs this gets dusty and a little furry everyweek, and I don’t feel like taking it off weekly and washing it in the sink. So the Q-tips do the trick getting in the little slate vent areas on this drip pan cover.

Ashley H. December 21, 2011 at 3:59 pm

I use them to clean the corners of frames.

Mami2jcn December 21, 2011 at 3:56 pm

I use Q Tips to clean my computer keyboard.

Bridget December 21, 2011 at 3:51 pm

Toys are number one followed by cleaning out small crevices in aquarium filters.

Pumpkinpuddy December 21, 2011 at 3:23 pm

Mom uses q-tips to paint small things. We’d rather bat them around all over the place.

The Island Cats December 21, 2011 at 1:56 pm

We like to use Q-tips as toys! Until our mom takes them away from us. RATS!!

BJ Bangs December 21, 2011 at 1:17 pm

Q-tips are great for the ears. The tuxedo has wax built up wax in his ears, and I use the Q-tips to swish it around the exterior. They also work to clean their teeth, treat a wound or even serve as toys.

Connie December 21, 2011 at 12:56 pm

OMC.. I LOVE that qCat..

niccolette December 21, 2011 at 12:45 pm

I use q-tips to clean my kitties ears and eyes.

Barbara December 21, 2011 at 12:33 pm

I tie them in crosses to make my kitties favorite toys.

Heather Fowler December 21, 2011 at 12:26 pm

Ears, ears, ears, ears! Those are the top four, for people and kitties alike. Then between toes, noses, and little booties sometimes. They’re perfect for so many things! Oh, and for ointment of pretty much any kind that goes anywhere! On kitties, I mean. ;)

Busy Buttons December 21, 2011 at 12:25 pm

Always for my ear goo, but also sometimes to get rid of nastiness from my occasional skin infections. Those infections are gross!

Alana December 21, 2011 at 12:02 pm

They are good when you have cases of ringworm to use to apply the Betadine. With the itty bitty’s Betadine is safer than the shampoos and mega meds and works just as well most of the time.

Cheryl J December 21, 2011 at 11:57 am

My kitties love Q-tips. One cat likes the clean ones and another only likes used Q-tips…eww. Fun to watch them play with them.

Teri and the cats of Curlz and Swirlz December 21, 2011 at 11:38 am

The ditty is fun and so true! I use Q-tips for cleaning the ‘yeasty’ nail beds that Cornish Rex and Sphynx are prone to. Remember, Q-Tips are as ‘rough’ as a Brillo pad when used dry, so be sure to moisten them with the appropriate ear or skin cleanser before using them (a speaker at a veterinary conference told us that and we always stress that to our ‘patients’ now…

Pamela Curry December 21, 2011 at 11:29 am

Many ways, some not conventional, but this morning to distract one Kitten from jumping
on my *x mirror so I could pluck my eyebrows (strange bathroom mates and all) She likes to play fetch with them, and is so crazy when she gets one she flips them in the air.

Monique December 21, 2011 at 11:27 am

We use q-tips to apply vaseline to the dog’s floppy ears. She’s a Boxador, and she bursts blood vessels at the ends of her ears when she shakes her head really hard in this dry winter weather, but if we keep the tips moisturized and keep her from shaking then the house doesn’t look like a crime scene with blood splattered everywhere. =)

Natalie December 21, 2011 at 11:17 am

{Also great for cleaning my cats and dog’s ears}

Natalie December 21, 2011 at 11:16 am

I put them in one of my old medication bottles and then have them for when im travelling. Also, they are Perfect for perfecting eye liner (especially liquid) as well as lipstick/liner!!

Tamara December 21, 2011 at 11:10 am

We like to bat our Q-tips around the floor, but they’ve also been used to clean the corners of bird cages! And to get the eye goops…and to clean the ears… Q-tips are a must-have in our house, I think :) Love your 12 days, Romeo!

Melissa December 21, 2011 at 11:10 am

I use Q-tips to clean my kitties ears & whenever I do, I always have to toss a few on the floor for them to “kill”! LOL Makes them feel better to destroy the Q-tips I guess…
