Oh, my! Another day of wonderful black cats, or “House Panthers” as my friend Vicki refers to them. LOVE IT! Vicki has her own House Panther, who we featured yesterday. Check out the gorgeous KC!
Okay, on to the reason you’re all here…..
Here’s Shadow, who likes to drink water out of the faucet every minute of the day. She’s very crafty. Sometimes she gets in the way of her staff when they try to use the sink and wants them to make the water come out. Sometimes she lays right inside the sink until they do! She’s very persistent.
Here’s a lovely image of Jackie from Amy White’s new gift book, “Cat Angels: The Secret Lives of Cats” Hee hee hee, secret lives? What is she talking about?
OMG check out this crew – Mr. B., Mowgli, Tasha, Tori and friend.
Here’s a sweet story about the next kitty, Midnight. He loved to jump up on the bird bath in the back yard and drink from it. He died from kidney failure, and the last couple of months of his life he’d acquired a protege, a little black girl cat who belonged to some neighbors down the street. She’d hang out with him every day, and hunker down in the grass each night when he came inside, waiting for him to return the next morning. Both were neutered, so there wasn’t any hanky-panky going on, but they were very close. After his parents buried him next to the bird bath, she would come and lie on his grave for a couple of days afterward, but then she stopped coming around…except for one time, when she walked up the street to visit. Her family moved away shortly after that, so Midnight’s parents suppose she was coming to say goodbye to them. Cats are so polite!
From his humble beginnings – a matted, thin, half-wild foundling in the barn – to living the life of luxury as a house cat, here’s Barnie:
That’s all for today. While you can never, ever get tired of black cat photos, I have to save more for tomorrow! Until then, GO HOUSE PANTHERS!
