Maybelle the Mastermind

Maybelle the Mastermind

It’s not always necessary to be in the room with your staff in order to wake them up. In fact, Maybelle, from Columbus, Ohio and her assistant, Mr. Butters, have figured out a great team strategy.

Maybelle writes:

Mr. Butters: the voice of the wake up team

Mr. Butters: the voice of the wake up team

“When my owners decided to buy a house, they made the executive decision to kick us cats out of their room at night…something about needing more sleep. Needless to say, I was very unhappy with this decision so I developed a tactic to ensure my owners get up by 9 AM to feed me.

I like to stand on my back legs and knock on the door using my front paws. I have even enlisted help with this tactic. I have taught my brother, Mr. Butters, to meow while I knock or to knock while I meow. This is the only time I have found Mr. Butters useful and this is why I keep him around. The tactic has worked wonders on the weekend when the staff attempts to sleep in.”

HAHAHAHAHA Maybelle! You are a very smart kitty. Way to go! Poor unsuspecting Mr. Butters. Readers, you should know that Maybelle and Mr. Butters also have two other sisters, Loki and Emma, who benefit from the wake up tactic without even lifting a paw. Maybe they’re the geniuses!

Once I tried keeping my Kitty out of the bedroom…. I had to pay to replace the carpet when I moved out, he dug under the doors with his claws and pulled it all up!

I just love reading (and learning) about your wake up tactics! I mostly rely on my humans’ alarm and my cuteness, but it’s good to read about some extra tricks I could use if that fails.

And oh, I wanted to let you know that I’ve given you a super cool Kreativ Blogger award on my blog – I hope you enjoy it! *purrs*
