“There are several different tactics I employ depending on the situation, but my patented move that I’d like to share is called Dancey-Pants. This does take a bit of patience, but in my experience has the most positive reception from my Girl – and it’s fun!
For this to work, it needs to be a hard floor. Lou has lovely bamboo floors, which are perfect. Like most dogs, my nails make a lovely clickety-clack sound on hard floors, and that’s the key to Dancey-Pants. Just start dancing around the room! Sometimes I have a specific song in my head; sometimes I make it up as I go along! The clicking awakens Lou bit by bit, and if she needs some extra coaxing sometimes I add in a hop up onto the bed and back down to the floor as part of my dance routine!
By the time she’s awake, I’m all warmed up and ready for my walk, which is immediately followed by BREAKFAST!”
Roger, this was priceless! We LOVE Dancey-pants! And, dear readers, you should know that today is Lou’s birthday so Roger did a special rendition of Dancey-pants to the tune of Happy Birthday. Way to go, Roger! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOU! xoxo.
