Just another note on my Gotcha Day….I think it’s quite appropriate that my friends over at Love Meow posted a story on me last night! Read the story here.

Am getting TOONA tonight…..MEOW!
Tags: animal rescue, gotcha day, love meowToday is a very important day! It’s my “Gotcha” Day! The day I was adopted by my staff (or rather, I adopted them).
Four years ago today, November 30, 2005, was the day I came to my forever home. Tomorrow is an important day too as it marks the four-year anniversary of the day I came out of hiding in the basement at my new forever home. But what can I say? I needed to get my thoughts sorted out.
Anyway, my whole reason for blogging and tweeting and fundraising is to help other animals find their forever homes so they can have four-year “Gotcha” Day anniversaries too.
You guys make that happen! Thanks for all of your support!
Here are some photos from my initial interview with the male staff member while still at the Persian Rescue. Although I am told I was a bit aloof, once the female staff member saw these photos it was a done deal.
When is your “Gotcha” day?
This morning, focused on male staff member. Conducted usual sniffing and nudging to head and then sat furry butt on staff’s cheek, making sure tail rested across his upper lip, much like a Romeo mustache. Genius! He got up right away and BREAKFAST was served!

“There are several different tactics I employ depending on the situation, but my patented move that I’d like to share is called Dancey-Pants. This does take a bit of patience, but in my experience has the most positive reception from my Girl – and it’s fun!
For this to work, it needs to be a hard floor. Lou has lovely bamboo floors, which are perfect. Like most dogs, my nails make a lovely clickety-clack sound on hard floors, and that’s the key to Dancey-Pants. Just start dancing around the room! Sometimes I have a specific song in my head; sometimes I make it up as I go along! The clicking awakens Lou bit by bit, and if she needs some extra coaxing sometimes I add in a hop up onto the bed and back down to the floor as part of my dance routine!
By the time she’s awake, I’m all warmed up and ready for my walk, which is immediately followed by BREAKFAST!”
Roger, this was priceless! We LOVE Dancey-pants! And, dear readers, you should know that today is Lou’s birthday so Roger did a special rendition of Dancey-pants to the tune of Happy Birthday. Way to go, Roger! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOU! xoxo.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Thor, a.k.a. Phoenix, was rescued by Nine Lives Foundation, our Furpower beneficiary of the month, after a harrowing ordeal at a local shelter. Thor was on the list and actually given several doses of the sedative stuff they give to make it not hurt before you go to the Rainbow Bridge. None of these doses did anything. In fact, the amount he was given probably should have sent him to the Bridge even without going to the next step. The shelter staff would not send him to the Bridge without the sedative so they called Nine Lives who came to rescue him. Thor is a survivor! We all are.
So there is only ONE thing I am thankful for today – that is ANIMAL RESCUERS.
Please show your thanks to animal rescue too by donating today to Nine Lives. We are trying to reach our goal by Monday and even $1 makes a difference. We can do it with your help!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU Nine Lives and all of the other wonderful animal rescues out there. You have made a difference in soooooo many furry and human lives. xo.

You may have noticed I leverage a few main themes and then experiment with variations. One of my favorite themes is strategically placing my body somewhere on the female staff’s body that will make her slightly uncomfortable.
Today, staff sleeping on her side. Came up behind her neck. Placed front legs across her neck and allowed full body weight to lay on fragile neck area. Kind of like a Romeo scarf. Purred.
While staff was not happy, I did get kudos for a new tactic. And, BREAKFAST was served soon after.
Wednesday Wake up Tactic is sponsored by Big Paw Designs who has generously agreed to donate a portion of today’s sales to our FURPOWER recipient, Nine Lives Foundation. Thanks, Big Paw!
As I mentioned yesterday, it’s Thanksgiving week and I’m writing daily lists of what I’m thankful for. I want to hear what you are thankful for too!
Also, I would really, REALLY be thankful for any donations you can give to my Furpower recipient this month, Nine Lives Foundation. We’re closing in on the end of the month and working hard to reach our goal. I would love to be able to deliver them a wonderful Thanksgiving surprise. Can we do it? Every dollar helps. Tuesday’s List:
1. Pugsley (I really am)
2. Warm keyboards on which to lounge
3. Ponytail holders (these make great toys!)
4. Fresh dry noms that are very stinky
5. YOU GUYS! Love my bloggie friends!
6. Pillows
Now your turn!
This morning employed the “Tormenting Tail” strategy to get staff out of bed. Jumped up on female staff member’s chest and sat facing her feet. Then, swished floofy woofy tail across her face. After a few “ptooey!” noises, she dumped me off the side and got up to serve BREAKFAST.
Sometimes I feel very sorry for my staff because they do not have tails. Am thinking this is one reason they are just not as smart or agile. Imagine what staff could accomplish if they each had one!
