My staff has always liked Simon Cowell, even though he’s a big old grump. And now we find out that he is a big old animal lover and rescue supporter? Awesome!
We learned from one of our favorite blogs, L.A. Times Unleashed, that Simon recently donated $30,000 to Linda Blair’s (yes, that Linda Blair from the Exorcist) animal rescue organization, World Heart Foundation in Los Angeles.
The organization was in danger of closing due to lack of funding when Simon heard from a mutual friend they were in trouble and offered to help. What a good guy! And he’s done lots of other animal-related benefits and good works, so in our book, he’s A-OK.
We did a little research and learned that, even though Simon loves animals, he does not currently have a pet because he travels so much. I think that is a responsible way to look at it, Simon. And once Simon’s career lets him stay put for a while, I’m guessing some lucky rescue pet is going to have a great home.
