Red Carpet Rescuers – J.K. Rowling

We found out that J.K. Rowling, in addition to being a wildly successful author and Harry Potter empire-builder is also a RESCUE MOM and we love love love her for that. In October, 2007 J.K. adopted a retired greyhound, Sapphire, from The
Greyhound Rescue Fife near Kinross, Scotland. When J.K. wrote out a check for the adoption, the poor woman at the shelter almost had a kitten when she realized who J.K. was! That gave me a giggle.

How fantastic! This gives me the warm fuzzies. And that picture of them together is a swoon-inducer.

What a great thing to find out. I never knew that she was a rescue mom either. Don’tcha just love people sometimes?
