Friday wake up tactic – Special Guest Star...

I am featuring a special guest here today. She happens to be the MASTER of wake up tactics. In fact, she wakes up everyone in the house.

Here is the Crawling Creature getting ready to use her wake up skills on yours truly. See how she’s posing for the camera to make sure her art is captured on film?

Wednesday wake up tactic...

Forget you, sister! Am HUNGRY! Hi, DAD.

Forget you, sister! Am HUNGRY! Hi, DAD.

Use peacefully sleeping female staff’s head as leverage to catapult yourself over to side of bed where stirring male staff seems to be best bet for early BREAKFAST.

Tuesday wake up tactic – “The sweep...

Who, moi?

Who, moi?

This one is so simple, even newbies can do it.

Climb up on top of dresser (a bookcase or shelf will work just as well) and knock all items to the floor with paw or tail. Quickly jump down and pretend you were grooming.

P.S. I have carpets but I bet wood floors would make this uber-effective.

Monday Wake up tactic...

"Big Floof" Romeo v. "The Puginator" Pugsley

The unintended outcome of this morning’s WWF cat match between “White Floof” Romeo and “The Puginator” Pugsley was waking up the staff at 6:15 a.m.

Apparently, it wasn’t so much the wrastling that roused her but the two of us chasing each other through the house like a “herd of damn elephants.”

Cousin Troy...

And the staff says MY nose is pink. Check out this dude's sniffer!

And the staff says MY nose is pink. Check out this dude's sniffer!

The staff was in Chicago this weekend for some BlogHer conference and stayed with male staff member’s brother and wife. They also have a Crawling Creature. However, this is redeemed by the fact they have two cats running the household. Here is the lead cat, my cousin Troy. My other cousin is Eliza but she runs when anyone (except Troy) even looks in her direction so we got no photos of her.

Top 10 Hiding Places...

In honor of Friday, we let the staff sleep and got up early to compile a list of our favorite hiding places.

1. Inside bookshelf
2. Under Crawling Creature’s crib
3. In plain sight on black chair (Pugsley only; I stand out on the black chair. Staff not that dense.)
4. On top of bookshelf
5. In bathtub (sans water)
6. Behind washer and dryer
7. In laundry basket (preferably on top of clean laundry)
8. Under big bed
9. Behind bookshelf
10. Inside carelessly-left-ajar cabinets

Thursday wake up tactic...

Here I am with the fruits of my labor.

Here I am with the fruits of my labor.

Pull ponytail holder from female staff member’s hair with your teeth. Be persistent; it may take a few tries to get to The Big Pull.

The Big Pull tactic is quite brilliant as it not only yields choice words from staff but also provides fun toy to play with until the staff prepares BREAKFAST.

Wednesday wake up tactic...

Staff sleeping on side. Start at feet and walk carefully up side of staff’s body. Lay down on shoulder and purr. Loudly.

Subtle but highly effective.
